Cardiff Council Awards Xerox Contract to Transform Public Service Communications
UXBRIDGE, U.K., Feb. 20 2020 – Cardiff Council has selected Xerox Services for Digital Citizen to digitise its mail services, increasing the speed and reducing the cost of public service communications. This agreement supports key objectives within the Council’s Digital Strategy.
“A key focus for the Council is making sure public services are delivered efficiently, effectively and sustainably in the face of reduced budgets and evolving citizen expectations,” said Ian Allwood, head of finance at Cardiff Council. “Xerox’s Services will help us modernise and streamline our communications for Cardiff residents. Associated cost savings and resources identified by this new innovative approach can then be reallocated to other more critical services.”
With this five-year agreement, Xerox will digitise and automate the Council’s manual mail process, ensuring more timely provision of personalised information to citizens. Welfare Benefits, Traffic and Transport, and Waste services are the first departments to use this service. Digitising its mail service will also help the Council meet compliance measures and help ensure citizen privacy through data encryption and user authentication.
“The demand for digital services and the speed at which technology advances is putting a strain on governments and their budgets,” said Alexis Rufus, Public Sector, general manager, Xerox U.K and Ireland. “With Xerox Services for Digital Citizen, we’re providing Cardiff Council with a platform that can address their challenges today and evolve with their needs in the future.”
